About Me
“Why are you a Classics major, anyway?”
This is a question I get a lot. When I started at Skidmore, I thought I would end up somewhere in the biological research industry. I had an interest in antiquity, so I decided to take some courses in the department. I fell in love with the interdisciplinary nature of classics, with the opportunity to explore material culture, history, literature, and language. After declaring my major and taking more classes, I decided I wanted to become a classical archaeologist. To cement my passion, I embarked on a trip to central Greece with Skidmore’s own Dr. Janelle Sadarananda to participate in the Eastern Boeotia Archaeological Project. Being able to immerse myself in the past was an experience I will never forget. Through my coursework at Skidmore, I have been prepared to continue the path to my dreams.
